The Imaginarium of Dr. Luminarium?

Hello and happy Friday,

For this week’s blog, I wanted to give you an update on our friend Redmoon’s upcoming event, Festival J.O.E., an all around good time for average Joes and Janes of all ages. Make sure to mark your calendars on Labor Day Weekend to enjoy all the festivities, including the first American appearance of the Architects of Air’s Luminarium. After all the summer fun at the Pitchfork and Lollapalooza festivals, we will be saddling up and putting on our big-girl (and big-boy) pants to attend what promises to be one of the most unique events in Chicago.

Here’s what Redmoon has to say about Festival J.O.E.

In the festival spirit of Labor Day’s celebration of workers and their families, Redmoon is partnering with Chicago’s Metro, the UK’s Architects of Air and the Chicago Park District to launch its first-ever festival with quality family entertainment, an international public art installation, small scale & guerilla performances and live music acts that all culminate in a Redmoon spectacle performance.

This Joyous Outdoor Event will be for people of all ages where Redmoon invites
audiences to interact and celebrate with a panoramic of activities focused on a unique program of spectacle theater, live music, and local artists.

Festival J.O.E. is set for launch in 2010 over Labor Day weekend, beginning Thursday, September 2 through Monday, September 6th located on the lakefront in the park of Lakeview’s South Belmont Harbor.

For more information visit: www.redmoon.org

How does one get involved in this spectacular event, you might ask? There are a few options to choose from:

-Buy tickets on www.redmoon.org to attend the festival like an average Joe

-Flex your personal or corporate philanthropy muscles and become a VIP sponsor

-Drive south on Lake Shore Drive at Belmont Harbor, look to your left and gaze at the crazy shapes of the Luminarium (free, but not recommended)

-Become a vendor at the festival by contacting us via our contact page

Well, you read it here first. Getting involved in the Redmoon Festival J.O.E. is like stealing candy from a baby. I leave you with a cool video of the actual Luminarium to excite the senses.

Enjoy this warm weather while it lasts,

-Mowalla, Chicago
